Ohio State shakes off slow start to lead Iowa at the half

Ohio State spotted Iowa seven points to start the game, but slowly settled in, played solid defense and then began to hit some shots. It leads Iowa 36-33 at the half in a game it simply has to have.

It all starts with turnovers for the Buckeyes and thus far they’ve committed just six in one half of play. Last time these two matched up, Ohio State had a whopping 21 for the game.

Ohio State has also limited Jordan Bohannon and Tyler Cook. Cook, in particular has had limited opportunities, only managing four points in the first half despite being Iowa’s leading scorer at 16 points per game.

For the Buckeyes, Duane Washington leads all scorers with ten points. He’s provided a needed lift with C.J. Jackson still limited somewhat.

Now it’ll be up to Ohio State to continue the good showing it had in the first half over to the second. There’s been many games where a tale of two halves has resulted in some pretty ugly losses for the Buckeyes.
