The wave of preseason watch lists continue, and this time we’ve got news of two Buckeyes being among the 92 names on the 2019 Bronco Nagurski preseason watch list. Those two Buckeyes are none other than defensive end Chase Young and safety Jordan Fuller.
The Nagurski Award was established in 1993 and is handed out annually to the best defensive player in college football annually. It is voted on by the Football Writers Association of America and will be handed out on December 9th at a banquet in Charlotte, North Carolina.
For both Chase and Fuller, it’s the second preseason watch list they’ve appeared on. Young was named to the Bednarik, while Fuller has appeared on the Thorpe preseason watch list.
If you’re keeping track, the only Buckeye to ever win the Nagurski Award is former All-American linebacker James Laurinaitis in 2006.
