Ohio State’s Brian Hartline now ranked best recruiter in country according to 247Sports

It’s been a dizzying spell of recruiting prospects giving their commitments to Ohio State as of late. With all that’s going on, someone has to be out there shopping for the groceries and perhaps nobody has done it better than Buckeye wide-receivers coach Brian Hartline.

It’s crazy when you look at all the talent he’s brought in for the 2020 recruiting cycle. There’s the class’ top wide receiver Julian Fleming (No. 5 overall), quarterback Kyle McCord (49 overall), and another trio of wide-receivers in Jaxson Smith-Njigba (59), Gee Scott, Jr. (63), and Mookie Cooper (74).

That’s five top-100 players if you’re counting. Four more than the entire Michigan recruiting class that’s ranked eighth nationally according to 247Sports. It’s quite the haul for one guy.

In fact, the former Ohio State and Miami Dolphin receiver is now rated as the No. 1 recruiter in the country according to 247Sports, passing Clemson’s defensive-line coach Todd Bates.

Not bad for a guy that was just elevated to an assistant coach last year. By the way, another OSU assistant, Jeff Hafley currently sits at No. 3 in the recruiting rankings.
