Ohio State’s 2014 football recruiting class was one for the ages

What better way to measure a recruiting class than where it ultimately ends up? A lot of fans, expert analysts and recruiting services like to heap praise on a team “winning” the recruiting race based on star ratings and points assigned to classes when it happens, but you never truly know the value until that class graduates and beyond.

For Ohio State, I think we can safely say that the 2014 recruiting class was a resounding success. In fact, of the 23 recruits that ended up enrolling that year, a whopping fourteen of them are already in the NFL, or were either drafted or signed as an undrafted free agent this past weekend.

Thanks to a Tweet by Barstool Sports, those fourteen can be seen below.

Even for a class that was ranked No. 3 behind Alabama and LSU that year, that’s flat out getting it done. Not only is it an achievement for simply pulling in a recruiting haul like that, but there also has to be some exceptional development for most of those player to be at a point in their careers that they get a shot at the NFL when eligible.

Just amazing when you really think of it, and it’s just more ammo for Ryan Day and staff when they hit the recruiting trail.
