Ohio State RB J.K. Dobbins destroyed Indiana’s entire defense on TD run

Despite an impressive Indiana touchdown at the end of the second quarter, Ohio State blew out the Hoosiers in the first half of Saturday’s Big Ten matchup. The Buckeyes entered halftime with a 30-10 lead with quarterback Justin Fields and running back J.K. Dobbins accounting for almost all of their first-half gains.

Dobbins finished the first 30 minutes with 20 carries for 175 yards, but the play that really stood out was his 26-yard touchdown run for Ohio State’s last score of the half.

The junior running back shredded Indiana’s defense with his speed and stiff-arm and escaped six tackles on 3rd-and-6 to find the end zone with about four minutes left in the second quarter. His touchdown gave the Buckeyes a 30-3 lead at that point.

He also survived a tackle by a referee on his way to finishing the first half with more yards than Indiana’s whole offense, which had 160 at the break.

Dobbins finished the 2018 season with 1,053 yards and had 1,403 as a freshman in 2017. But his 175 yard in the first half against the Hoosiers is already the second-most in his career.

Update: Dobbins had 22 carries for 193 yards and one rushing touchdown in Ohio State’s 51-10 win. He also had 14 receiving yards and another touchdown.

College football Twitter was in awe of Dobbins’ first half performance, particularly his touchdown run.
