Ohio State RB J.K. Dobbins breaks into program’s top five in rushing yards

Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins with his performance against Northwestern, broke into the program’s top five in all-time rushing yards.

In his third season in Columbus, Dobbins would have at least a chance to break the Buckeye-legend Archie Griffin’s all-time record if he were to stay. For now, Dobbins is at No. 5 and should easily be No. 2 by year’s end barring injury.

Against Northwestern, Dobbins was having a tough time finding holes early. However, a two-play drive of just 72 yards by the third-year back corrected those issues. He ended the game with 121 yards after he took much of the second-half off.

What’s even crazier is that backup running back Master Teague was also just four yards away from the century mark on the ground. This Buckeyes’ team is simply dominant on the ground.

But, it’s been Dobbins who has been dominant throughout his entire career. Here’s how he’s stacked up against some of the Buckeyes’ best to date.

Reminder: He still has at least six games to play and potentially a full senior season, although it’s doubtful he stays.

Dobbins came out of high school as a highly rated kid, but needing to get back in game shape after suffering an ankle injury his senior season. He is doing nothing to change the perspective. Sadly, for Ohio State fans, that may also mean he’s primed to hit the market for the 2020 NFL Draft.
