Ohio State RB J.K. Dobbins awarded Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

The Buckeyes steamrolled the Hoosiers in Bloomington this past week, and it was partially thanks to a career game from running back J.K. Dobbins. The third-year back put up over 200 all-purpose yards.

While gobbling up that much total real-estate is extremely impressive, Dobbins’ 193 rushing yards provides an even greater look at just how dynamic he was against Indiana.

Dobbins also collected two touchdowns, one from a pass from Justin Fields and the other where he broke seven tackles en route to the end zone. This performance caught everyone’s attention, including the Big Ten.

The conference named Dobbins Co-Offensive Player of the Week, according to a release from the Big Ten. He shared the honor with Minnesota Tyler Johnson who recorded 10 receptions for 140 yards and three touchdowns.

Now with 425 yards on the ground through three games, Dobbins is on pace to break his career high of 1,403 yards set his freshman season. Right now, it appears he may slay that total, potentially hitting 1,000 yards in his first seven games.

These types of performances will only help Dobbins, who could enter into the 2020 NFL Draft. Currently, the only projected first-round running back is fellow Big Ten opponent Jonathon Taylor.

Dobbins is certainly helping his case though.
