Ohio State quarterback transfer Matthew Baldwin headed to TCU

The pipeline from Columbus to Fort Worth is alive and real — or so it seems. Just a little over a week after former Ohio State basketball player Jaedon LeDee announced a transfer from the Buckeyes to the Horned Frogs, Buckeye quarterback Matthew Baldwin has announced the same travel plans according to news reported by 247Sports. This comes just three weeks from the announcement that Baldwin had entered the now infamous transfer portal causing a bit of a panic in the quarterback room on the banks of the Olentangy.

Prior to the announcement, Badwin was perceived to be in a competition for the starting spot with Georgia transfer Justin Fields. That was after Tate Martell transferred from the Buckeyes to the Hurricanes down on South Beach. Ryan Day then got Gunnar Hoak as a graduate transfer from Kentucky to plug the hole in the scarlet and gray dam.

Are you still with me? Maybe the Ohio State football team should look into Western Union for its next sponsorship because, ya know … the whole transfer thing.

Regardless, the news of Baldwin’s final destination doesn’t come as a surprise. Rumors were circulating that he had been home sick, and since he’s a Texas boy, finding his way to Forth Worth makes a lot of sense. He will be seeking immediate eligibility.

We wish nothing but good things for Baldwin and hope he’s able to find what he’s looking for.
