Ohio State is scrambling yet again to get depth at the quarterback position. With the new NCAA Transfer Portal and a seemingly relaxed view on the NCAA granting immediate eligibility for undergraduates, it has become a revolving door of expectations in Columbus.
Now that Matthew Baldwin — the main gladiator in the scarlet and gray QB1 race — has entered his name into the transfer portal, the position is dangerously thin once again and, will need attention somewhere around yesterday.
In a nice move, the kid that Ryan Day hand-picked as his first quarterback recruit has released a statement on what was no doubt a difficult decision for Baldwin and his family. In it, he thanks Buckeye fans, coaches and players, and wishes the team well.
