Ohio State players in the 2020 NFL Draft: Detroit Lions select OT Jonah Jackson in 3rd round

Perhaps no player improved his draft stock more than Ohio State offensive lineman Jonah Jackson. The first move that greatly enhanced his rise was the transfer from Rutgers to Ohio State last season. He plugged right into the starting lineup and helped anchor an offensive line that allowed Justin Fields to work wonders, and paved the way for J.K. Dobbins’ 2,000-plus yards on the ground.

The second move that opened some eyes to the talent of Jackson is his participation in the Reese’s Senior Bowl. He went against quality competition and excelled in drills and interviews.

Jackson started all 14 games for the Big Ten champions at right guard and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection. He’s the 20th Ohio State offensive linemen drafted since 2000. That ties Wisconsin for the most of any program.

He’s a guy that is good in both the passing game and opening up lanes for ball carriers. It’s a solid pick for the Lions, and they clearly wanted him after orchestrating a trade to move up.
