Ohio State players in the 2019 NFL Draft: Dre’Mont Jones selected by the Denver Broncos in the 3rd round

Ohio State defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones is officially off the board. The 6-3, 286 pounder out of Cincinnati was picked by the Denver Broncos as the 71st overall pick in the third round.

Though Jones didn’t get the publicity and hype of guys like Nick Bosa or one of the three Clemson defensive lineman, he’s an unsung hero that gets a good push in the middle of the offensive line. He can often tie up more than one blocker, and has a motor that doesn’t stop. Jones uses his hands, technique and size well to get leverage.

He was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection last year, a three-year starter at Ohio State, and has the potential to have a solid and productive NFL career. He’s another high character guy. We may see that he was a little underrated when it’s all said and done with the Broncos getting a sweet deal.
