Ohio State picked to go this far in the NCAA Tournament according to brackets filled out on ESPN

As usual, ESPN is presenting its March Madness Bracket Challenge, and there have again been millions of submissions as we get into the throes of this year’s NCAA Tournament. Though chalk generally prevails in these sorts of challenges, I always find it interesting who the people pick when all the results are added up, especially when it comes to a team I root for.

And yeah, I do root for the Buckeyes, so I’m ready to snuggle up with how far the folks of this great basketball nation of ours think Ohio State can go.

It’s not much of a surprise, but according to all the brackets that were filled out, it looks like the consensus is that OSU will make it all the way to the Elite Eight before behind knocked out by No. 1 seed Baylor.

Here’s how each round stacks up based on all the picks across the college football fan universe.

NEXT … The breakdown of each round for Ohio State

Percentage of brackets that picked Ohio State on ESPN

USA TODAY Sports

First Round

No. 2 seed Ohio State vs. No. 15 seed Oral Roberts – 95% pick OSU to win

Second Round

No. 2 seed Ohio State vs. No. 7 seed Florida – 88% pick OSU to win

Sweet Sixteen

No. 2 seed Ohio State vs. No. 3 seed Arkansas – 73% pick OSU to win

Elite Eight

No. 2 seed Ohio State vs. No. 1 seed Baylor – 68% pick Baylor to win

And that’s where most believe OSU’s journey will end in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Luckily, what’s picked rarely happens in one of the most unpredictable and drama-filled sporting events held annually.

Ohio State begins its journey Friday at 3 p.m.
