Ohio State now in elite company in latest Associated Press Top 25 poll

Don’t look now, but the Ohio State basketball team just keeps moving on up in the Associated Press Top 25. After a huge win on the road over No. 8 Iowa, AP voters have the Buckeyes ranked all the way up to No. 4 in the nation.

The Bucks put on quite a show, shooting 44% from beyond the arc, and showed they can hold their own against teams that are bigger and longer. As a result, the polls are starting to look favorably towards Ohio State.

Despite not playing in a couple of weeks, Michigan was moved up to No. 3 after Villanova lost to a mediocre St. John’s team earlier in the week. Even though Michigan hasn’t been in action due to a pause in athletics from COVID-19 concerns, the Wolverines are still on top of the Big Ten standings.

Ohio State will have its chance to topple the conference leaders in about two weeks, but first the Buckeyes have to take care of business against Maryland tonight in College Park.

Oklahoma joins Ohio State as newcomers to the AP top ten this week. The current top ten is as follows: Gonzaga (1), Baylor (2), Villanova (3), Michigan (4), Houston (5), Texas (6), Ohio State (7), Iowa (8), Oklahoma (9), and Alabama (10).
