It was to be expected of course, but Ohio State has been dropped from the latest release of the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. Initially, when the preseason poll was released, the Buckeyes checked in at No. 2. Since then though, both the Big Ten and Pac-12 announced a postponement of their seasons because of concern over the COVID-19 pandemic.
Clemson was No. 1 in the preseason and continues to hold the top spot just ahead of Alabama right behind at No. 2. All told, ten teams from both the Big Ten and Pac-12 were dropped from the poll.
However, with the recent news that the Big Ten could be on the doorstep of approving a start to the season, hopefully, Ohio State will find its way back among the top again.
Ten teams fell out of this week's @AmwayUS Coaches Poll, all of them coming from either the Big Ten or Pac-12, which have decided to postpone their seasons.
