It might not have been the performance we were all expecting or hoping for, but Ohio State did come out on top Saturday against a top ten Indiana squad lest the national media and fans forget.
And true to form, the Buckeyes announced their Players of the Game for the close shave in the ‘Shoe against the Hoosiers.
On the defensive side of the ball, defensive end Jonathon Cooper and linebacker Pete Werner were named Co-Defensive Players of the Game. Cooper had one sack, two tackles for loss, and multiple hurries. He was in the backfield all game long. Werner also had a sack but also recorded four tackles and a vicious hit that helped create a fumble with Indiana driving deep into OSU territory. More than anything, he was all over the field.

Wide receiver Garrett Wilson and tight end Luke Farrell received the honor as Co-Offensive Players of the Game.
Wilson had several big plays resulting in seven catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns. But as an unsung hero, Farrell was a blocking machine Saturday and is being recognized for his work to spring some big runs and change the line of scrimmage on his side.

And not to be forgotten, safety Josh Proctor received the Special Teams Player of the Game. He had one of the biggest hits you’ll ever see on a kick return when he sent the Hoosier return man back into last week.

Congrats to these five players. As a reminder, Ohio State is back in action this Saturday as it hits the road for a game against Illinois where it’s a huge favorite.
