Ohio State men’s tennis continues its winning ways, takes down Notre Dame

The No. 1 ranked Ohio State men’s tennis team won convincingly 6-1 over Notre Dame Sunday to remain undefeated at 15-0.

As it has done almost all season, the Buckeyes started on the right foot by winning the doubles point. J.J. Wolf and Martin Joyce beat Richard Ciamarra and Tristan McCormick 6-1, and Mcnally/Tubert took down Notre Dame’s Broadus/Gamble 6-4.

From there it was on to the singles matches where Ohio State continued to dominate. John McNally defeated Richard Ciamarra 6-3, 6-4, and J.J. Wolf bounced Alex Lebedev 7-5, 6-3 to put OSU up 3-0 before Kyle Seelig clinched it with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over the Irish’s Tristan McCormick.

The teams then played it out, with only Hunter Tubert falling by a 4-6, 6-7 score to William Howells.

Ohio State appears to be a train rolling downhill right now and you have to wonder who can step up to beat the Buckeyes. They will next take on Big Ten foe Penn State on the road next weekend.
