Ohio State men’s tennis beats Indiana to clinch regular-season Big Ten Championship

The Ohio State men’s tennis team has clinched the regular-season Big Ten Championship yet again. It did it by disposing of the Indiana Hoosiers in dominating fashion 7-0 at home. It clinched at least a share Friday night, but got the outright title Sunday.

The Buckeyes — as they’ve done nearly all year — got things started by winning the doubles point when J.J. Wolf and Martin Joyce defeated Indiana’s team of Cembellin/Fletchall 6-1, followed by OSU’s Alex Kobelt and Kyle Seelig’s 6-3 win over the Hoosiers’ Brodney/Redding.

From there, the Buckeyes cruised, sweeping through the rest of the matches to blank the Hoosiers and bring home the victory, and the 14th-straight Big Ten regular season title. Frankly, that’s dominance that should probably be getting a little more publicity than it does.

Ohio State will now look to close out the regular season before trying to double-down in the Big Ten Tournament that takes place April 25-28. It will of course go into the tourney as the No. 1 seed.

Congrats Bucks!
