Ohio State men’s hockey falls to Michigan 4-2 in game one of two

Getting that final Big Ten regular season clinching win is proving to be awfully difficult. First Ohio State got swept by Minnesota last weekend with a chance to close down the Big Ten title, and now this. The Buckeyes fell to TTUN 4-2 at Yost Arena in Ann Arbor.

It could have been different. The Buckeyes twice held a one-goal advantage but couldn’t close it out. First OSU led 1-0 courtesy of a Mason Jobst goal with 15:04 left in the second, and then early in the third when Tanner Laczynski lit the lamp to make it 2-1.

But Michigan countered both times, and even pulled away in the third thanks to a goal on the power play to make it 3-2, then with a follow up shortly after for the final score of 4-2.

The Buckeyes and Wolverines are at it again tomorrow night at 6 PM. The scarlet and gray will again be going for a conference clinching win.
