Ohio State men’s hockey coach Steve Rohlik finalist for Spencer Penrose coach of the year Award

The Ohio State men’s hockey team ran away and hid from the rest of the Big Ten this year — winning the regular-season conference crown in relatively easy fashion.

And while all of the team’s expectations weren’t met this year, it was still one of the best seasons in OSU hockey history. Now, because of the way the entire season unfolded, head coach Steve Rohlik has been named a finalist for the Spencer Penrose Award, given to the best Division 1 college hockey coach yearly.

It’s the second-straight year Rohlik has been nominated for the award and speaks volumes for where he has the program currently. He is one of ten finalists that will be voted on prior to the Frozen Four, with the winner to be announced on Wednesday, April 10.

Here’s to wishing coach Rohlik luck on the voting.
