Ohio State manages just seventeen points in first half, trails at Northwestern

The offensive display by Ohio State couldn’t be much worse, but the deficit sure could be. Against last place Northwestern — who has only managed 28 point themselves in the first twenty minutes — the Buckeyes simply have nothing going on the offensive end without Kaleb Wesson in the lineup. They are down 28-17 and might be better off replacing the rims with peach baskets.

Ohio State has made just four field goals on twenty-eight shots for an ice cold 14.3 percent shooting.  Yes. Good luck, finding a worse display of shooting at your local YMCA youth league.

The Buckeyes have also turned the ball over seven times and made eight of twelve free throws. I’d love to tell you that it’s Northwestern making life difficult for Ohio State, but that would be far too kind.

The shot selection has been poor, the energy level at an all-time low and somebody on the team has to say this is enough and breathe some life back into an NCAA Tournament bid that’s starting to skate over the edge.

Keyshawn Woods leads the scoring for Ohio State with eight points, but that’s about all we can say at this point. The second half can’t be any worse, so let’s hope there’s nowhere to go but up from here.
