We are a long way away from the 2021-2022 college basketball season, but just like college football, the following is a year around one with writers and pundits providing their opinion on the upcoming season year-round. And yeah, we’re included in that.
One of the best college basketball insiders that we follow closely here at Buckeyes Wire is CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. And, as fate would have it, he has joined the offseason prognostications fray and published his own top 45 teams for next year.
If you’ve followed us any at all recently, you know that many in the national media have high regard for what Ohio State has coming back, and Rothstein is no different. In fact, he has the Buckeyes as the No. 5 team in the country behind only Gonzaga (1), UCLA (2), Villanova (3), and Kansas (4).
Unlike other writers, Rothstein went even further and projected a starting five for OSU that consists of Jamari Wheeler (guard), Duane Washington, Jr. (guard), Justice Sueing (forward), E.J. Liddell (forward), and Kyle Young (center).
SEVEN teams from the SEC are ranked in the Top 33 of the ROTHSTEIN 45.
With the addition of Michigan State transfer Rocket Watts, Mississippi State now checks in at 31.https://t.co/zHu2dKQjBD
