Ohio State hockey’s Mason Jobst receives Big Ten Medal of Honor

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind for Ohio State hockey player Mason Jobst as of late. He participated in the Big Ten Hockey Tournament, went on to play in the NCAA Hockey Tournament, then got signed by the New York Islanders earlier this month — and now this.

In case you missed it, Jobst was presented with the Big Ten’s Medal of Honor Tuesday night.

Each year, the Big Ten selects one graduating scholar-athlete from each school that “attained the greatest proficiency in athletics and scholastic work. This year, that Ohio State male athlete is non other than the Hobey Baker Finalist himself. The Award has been handed out since 1915.

Jobst is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten choice who majoring in real-estate and urban analysis.

Congratulations to on yet another award he can display in whatever huge case he has set up. As the image states, he is the first hockey player to win the award since Dave Hoyles in 1973.
