Ohio State has eleven players appearing on Athlon’s preseason All-Big Ten teams

It might be the a slow football news cycle in late May, but that’s when some of the preseason lists and magazines begin to make the rounds. The Athlon Sports College Football Preview is already out and there’s plenty to digest.

One of the sections in the magazine picks the preseason All-Big Ten teams and Ohio State is well represented with eleven players.

The first team offense includes running back J.K. Dobbins and offensive lineman Thayer Munford. The first team defense recognizes defensive end Chase Young and safety Jordan Fuller, while the first team specialists has punter and proposal/bottle flipping extraordinaire Drue Chrisman listed.

Here’s how the second, third and fourth teams stack-up:

All-Big Ten Second Team

Justin Fields, quarterback
K.J. Hill, wide-receiver
Malik Harrison, linebacker
Jeffrey Okudah, safety

All-Big Ten Third Team

None

All-Big Ten Fourth Team

Wyatt Davis, offensive line
Robert Lander, defensive line

The eleven selections does not lead all teams in the league however. Michigan leads the preseason magazine’s selections with fifteen total and Penn State comes in second with thirteen.

Of course it doesn’t mean a whole lot right now, but these things are still fun to look at and debate.
