Ohio State has dominated the Big Ten since the year 2000, and no other team comes close

It’s no secret that Ohio State is the current flag-bearer of Big Ten football, and has been for quite some time. It used to be the big two and little eight, so they say, with Michigan being the other to take turns as being the beast of the conference. But we know what chapter that story is currently in.

You probably knew the Buckeye program has the best winning percentage in league games for quite some time, but you probably didn’t realize the gap was so wide. According to a stat researched by FOX College Football, OSU has the best Big Ten winning percentage since the year 2000 at a .842 clip. That’s getting it done for a significant period of time.

Do you know what team is in second place? It’s not Michigan or Penn State, but Wisconsin. And while that might not be that much of a shocker with some of the periods of struggle both the Nittany Lions and Wolverines have endured, what is a shock is that the Badgers’ winning percentage in second place is just .655.

That’s a huge gap and further cements how good, and how much better the Ohio State program has been than the rest of the Big Ten on a consistent basis in that time.

At this point, you can measure almost any winning metric over a specific set of time and Ohio State is going to be at the top or right near the top when it comes to college football. This is just another example.
