Ohio State gets No. 2 seed in NCAA Tournament, will play Oral Roberts in first round

Ohio State has officially been received a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play No. 15 seed Oral Roberts in the first round. This comes on the heels of OSU nearly doing the unthinkable and making a run all the way through the Big Ten Tournament, but finally succumbing to No. 2 seed Illinois in the conference’s championship game Sunday.

If you are an Ohio State fan, and someone told you that OSU would finish No. 5 in the Big Ten, but have so many quality wins in a deep and talented league, make the tournament final, and be a No. 2 seed in the Big Dance, you probably would have taken it. Yeah, there were some frustrations along the way, but all in all, it’s been an unbelievable journey.

Now the Buckeyes will continue that run and begin play in its NCAA march (pardon the pun) on Friday.

If Ohio State wins, it will play the winner of No. 7 seed Florida and No. 10 seed Virginia Tech. Baylor is the No. 1 in the “South” region that the Buckeyes were selected to play in, with Arkansas (3), and Purdue (4) rounding out the top four seeds in that bracket.

OSU was selected as the overall No. 6 seed behind Gonzaga (1), Baylor (2), Illinois (3), Michigan (4), and Alabama (5).

Let the madness begin.
