Ohio State gets commitment from three-star forward Zed Key

BOOM! Buckeyes land another basketball recruit.

Three-star power forward Zed Key will be joining the Buckeyes in 2020. After offers from Florida and Boston College, the fifth-best player from New York will be taking his talents to Columbus, Ohio.

Key is a lengthy 6-foot-7. He’s ranked No. 158 in the nation and No. 31 at power forward according to 247Sports.

It could be an interesting season for the Buckeyes, who have one of their best-recruiting classes in OSU’s recent history coming in this season. Will many of them stay to help Key make waves in the Big Ten?

Key will join Eugene Brown as the only two players in the Class of 2020 to hard commit to Ohio State. Brown is a four-star recruit and the nation’s No. 26 ranked shooting guard.

As for the 2019 recruiting class, Ohio State has brought in the best player from Iowa and Illinois. They have a nice mix within their four four-star recruits, boasting one at each position outside of shooting guard.

That said, the combination of Kaleb Wesson and those four could make Ohio State the Big Ten’s best team. Then, it’ll be up to the Class of 2019 and 2020 to keep that moment with Key and Brown joining the team.

In the meantime, you can watch Key’s commitment video below shared through his Twitter feed.
