Ohio State freshman WR Garrett Wilson has black stripe removed

It’s always noteworthy when a black stripe is removed at Ohio State, but most especially when that black stripe belongs to one of the bell-cows of the recruiting class.

Freshman wide-receiver Garrett Wilson has been showing out this spring, and he figures to be among those competing for playing time immediately as a freshman in Columbus. He was more coveted than a win over Ohio State up in Ann Arbor for the 2019 class, but the Buckeyes snared him away from the state of Texas and are glad they did.

Though he’s been on campus for awhile, he had the honor of officially becoming a Buckeye Monday by way of having his black striped removed. Watch the below shared by @OhioStateFB on Twitter and see the short introduction and speech by Wilson.

And let this serve as a precursor now — you are going to be hearing about and from Wilson a LOT in the upcoming couple of years.
