Ohio State freshman DE Zach Harrison wins National Football Foundation Award

Ohio State’s five-star freshman defensive end just got on campus in January as an early enrollee, but he took some time out today to attend the National Football Foundation’s Columbus Chapter Banquet.

There were several awards handed out, and Harrison got one of the most prestigious as a recipient of the Columbus Chapter’s Maggied/Romanoff Award.

The Award goes to one of the fifteen high school scholars in the Columbus area that receive the John H. McConnel and Worthington Industries Foundation Scholarship. It recognizes academic, athletic, and community excellence in Central Ohio.

Obviously Harrison was a great get for Ohio State from a football standpoint, but this recognition only solidifies the type of person he is as well. Don’t be surprised if there’s more on and off the field awards going his way during his college career in Columbus.

Well done Zach.
