Ohio State forward Kyle Young will be a game time decision at Indiana Saturday

Ohio State basketball is hoping to get forward Kyle Young back, but exactly when is still unknown. Head coach Chris Holtmann met with the media Friday ahead of the showdown with Indiana in Bloomington Saturday and said the Young will be a game-time decision.

“As far as Kyle’s concerned, it’s going to be really to be up until game-time,” said Holtmann. “He was able to do a few more things yesterday, and he was able to move and do some things, but it’s probably too early to determine exactly what his status is going to be. He’s more ready to play than he was the other night, so we’ll see. A lot of it has to do with just the normal fatigue level that you have when you have your appendix taken out. He’ll kind of be a game-time decision.”

If you’ve watched the Buckeyes over the last couple of games, it should be clear that Young’s absence means quite a bit. The team is missing one of its main guys that has an all-around floor game. He gets rebounds, plays good interior post defense, and can get some of the ugly, scrappy points that are so important in Big Ten play.

For now though, we’ll just have to wait to see if he is healthy enough to go without putting him in further jeopardy. The last thing the coaching and medical staff once to do is put him in a position where his body doesn’t respond like it should, resulting in further harm.
