Ohio State Football releases Players of the Game vs. Northwestern

Ohio State Football released its Players of the Game for the team’s demolishing of the Northwestern Wildcats on Friday. The Buckeyes awarded two offensive, one defensive, and one special teams player the honor.

Offensively, it was Justin Fields, the five-star quarterback transfer that’s a top threat for Heisman Trophy award, and Jonah Jackson, a grad transfer from Rutgers University.

These two were forces in Ohio State’s fleecing of Northwestern.

Fields threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns en route to the Buckeyes 52-3 victory. As for Jackson, he was opening holes all game long, one reason OSU notched over 200 yards on the ground.

Defensively, it was senior outside linebacker Malik Harrison.

Harrison recorded a team-high seven tackles and two tackle assists. Born in Columbus, he is a Buckeye through and through, and he continues to perform at an improved level in 2019.

Lastly, kicker Blake Haubeil is representing the special teams. He kicked in a 55-yard field goal with time expiring in the second quarter. All that was good for was the second longest field goal in program history.

It had room to spare too.

The Buckeyes are now 7-0 and will take on Wisconsin this coming Saturday, the team’s first matchup against a top-15 opponent.
