Ohio State football makes cut for class of 2020’s top prospect

Ohio State has made the cut for another one of the big fish out there for the 2020 class. We’ve already heard about Kendall Milton still looking at the Buckeyes, and that’s big news in and of itself, but there’s another five-star running back in the class that’s considered to be even a cut above that.

Zachary Evans, out of North Shore High School in Houston announced his final five schools Tuesday via his Twitter feed and the Buckeyes are in the mix. The other four schools? There’s some usual suspects in there with Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Georgia. Surprisingly missing are the Texas schools, and it’s anyone’s guess as to where the 5-11, 200 pounder will land at this point.

Just to reiterate, according to 247Sports, Evans is the class’s No. 1 overall recruit. He is considered the 34th best prospect in the history of keeping track of these sorts of things so he’ll likely get his choice of whatever school he’d like to attend.

How this will impact the interest on both sides with the recruitment of Kendall Milton remains to be seen, but we’ll stay close to the action as the recruiting cycle continues to heat up.

Ryan Day and the program are certainly continuing to be in the mix for a slew of the biggest names out there. The question is how many of them come to fruition?
