Ohio State Football: J.K. Dobbins eclipses 1,000 yards on the season vs. Wisconsin

With his four-yard run in the early third quarter, J.K Dobbins has surpassed 1,000 on the season. This is his third straight 1,000-yard season in as many years. He came into the game needing 53 for for the benchmark.

Dobbins, who entered the season coming off a disappointing 2018 campaign, has erupted as one of the best NCAA’s best running backs. However, he is the only Buckeye to every have 1,000 rushing yards as a freshman, sophomore and junior in program history.

Had he been leaned on more often, or some of the games closer, Dobbins may have a ton more. But, the dynamic duo of him and backup running back Master Teague has provided a spark Ohio State that makes the offense even more hard to stop.

Dobbins has five 100-yard games and three with over 150 yards. He’s put the Buckeyes on his back when they’ve needed him most, and against Wisconsin, he’s once again providing a spark.

The 5-foot-10 junior is now under 100 yards shy of fourth on the Buckeyes’ all-time leading rushing yards list.

He could potentially pass Tim Spencer’s 3,553 in the second half, but it’s more likely he tops the early 80’s back Maryland on November 9. He’ll then have his sights on Eddie George at 3,768, a very manageable number.

Expect Dobbins’ dominance to continue throughout the remainder of the season.
