Ohio State football defensive end Chase Young will not participate in NFL combine drills

Apparently Ohio State defensive end Chase Young believes he has put enough on film to skip the workouts at the NFL Combine, and really who can argue with that.

Despite missing two games because of a suspension, Young still set the single-season sack record at Ohio State and led the country with 16.5. He didn’t rack up as many tackles for loss and sacks during the stretch run of the season, but that was mainly because of an increased focus on double and triple-teaming him.

He is widely considered to be a top-three prospect in the draft, and undoubtedly the best defender available. Most NFL types have him going off the board at No. 2 to the Washington Redskins.

But according to Ian Rapaport, he will not be going through any of the drills, but will be on-site and available for interviews and medical evaluations.

The on-field workouts are set to take place from Thursday through Sunday this week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
