It appears the Ohio State football program has reached into its bag of scholarships and handed one out to walk-on offensive lineman Kevin Woidke.
This, according to congratulatory Tweets his family sent out on Monday. Here’s a couple that were shared with the Twitterverse.
Woidke is a true senior walk-on from Cleveland St. Ignasius and has yet to see any game time on the offensive line, but has appeared as a regular on placekicking protection opportunities.
Interesting enough, the awarding of the scholarship puts the Buckeyes one scholarship over the 85 limit for the year, meaning Ohio State will have to shed one player by the start of fall camp.
Congratulations to Kevin. Well deserved, and no doubt a dream come true.
