Everybody at Ohio State is paying it forward. Yesterday, we reported on the Day, Smith, and Holtmann families donating some serious money to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank’s Covid-19 Emergency Fund. Apparently, some of the football assistant coaches wanted in on the action too.
According to a release by Ohio State on Wednesday, the football assistant coaches are pulling together to donate $47,000 collectively to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. The money will be used to help the surge the organization has experienced due to the increased need caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
“This is something we all wanted to do, almost immediately, after learning about the emergency fund,” Ohio State assistant Larry Johnson said. “Our program and players have made many visits to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank over the years and we all feel a responsibility to assist during this time of crisis.”
It’s a great cause to donate to and has a great return on money given. According to the release, every dollar donated allows the Foodbank to secure $9 worth of groceries.
