Ohio State drops to No. 6 in post-Week 2 AP Poll

After demolishing the Cincinnati Bearcats 42-0, Ohio State has dropped to No. 6 in the post-Week two AP Poll. That said, you should be able to guess the top five.

The top two remain unchanged. That being Alabama and Clemson, who both demolished their Week two opponents. No. 3, Georgia, remained unchanged as well.

It was No. 4 through 6 that saw some shakeup in Week two’s rankings. It goes Louisiana State, Oklahoma and Ohio State in that respective order, which, to be fair, doesn’t come as a shock.

Here’s how the top ten rounded out.

The Big Ten took a HUGE hit this week.

Michigan, after winning a battle with unranked Army in double-overtime, dropped three spots. Penn State (13), Wisconsin (14), Michigan State (18), Iowa (19) and Maryland (21) are the remaining Big Ten schools represented in the top 25.

Let’s get back to Ohio State.

They beat a double-digit win team from 2018 that returned many starters and beat UCLA in their opener by 42 and drop?

If the committee is going to favor teams that have proven themselves, this victory isn’t even close to LSU’s win over Texas, but it’s far more than anything Oklahoma has shown.

Overall, there’s still a ton of season left, and the Buckeyes, if they remain undefeated, will still be a top team. There has never been a fully undefeated College Football Playoff team left out, so, as long as Ohio State continues to take care of business, it’ll be just fine.
