Ohio State draftees on early Betonline lists for NFL rookie award odds

Put this in your category to discuss at the watercooler. Oh, who am I kidding, nobody has a watercooler in their office any longer. Instead, feel free to text, Tweet, post, or plaster on whatever social media site your little Buckeye bleeding heart desires.

According to Betonline, several newly minted NFL players drafted out of Ohio State are on the popular sportsbooks list of odds for individual rookie awards.

This, according to Colin Cass-Hill of Eleven Warriors who dug up all the dirt .

Obviously Nick Bosa’s odds are the ones that stand out the most. You can’t come off the line much better than 2/1 odds considering the population of defenders that were just drafted. It’s was a deep and talented defensive crop of prospects. Like most people, I love the potential of what Bosa will do, but I wouldn’t touch odds that far out of whack.

Haskins’ are also interesting. He seemed to slide down the perception ladder when it came to taking a quarterback in the draft, but the oddsmakers on Betonline like his chances of making an impact in Washington. If you read between the lines, the odds favor him being named the starter mid-way through the season and doing some things to get noticed for consideration of NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

And Parris Campbell getting 20/1 odds for the same award is worthy of noting. A late second round draft pick getting those types of odds speaks to the value they believe Indianapolis got.

Now, we’ll see how it all plays out. Who expected Joey Bosa to blow up in year one and for Michael Thomas to literally be the best wide receiver in the league just two short years after leaving Columbus?
