BLOOMINGTON, Ind. _ Ohio State beat Indiana again on Saturday. No surprise there.
The Hoosiers haven't beaten the Buckeyes since 1988. But in recent years, Indiana has usually managed to throw a scare into Ohio State before wilting.
Not this time.
No. 6 Ohio State dominated its 51-10 victory over the Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium from start to finish and in practically every way, especially at the line of scrimmage.
The Buckeyes (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten) outgained Indiana (2-1, 0-1) 528-250.
Running behind an offensive line that continually opened gaping holes, J.K. Dobbins ran for 193 yards on 23 carries in less than three full quarters. Two years ago in his college debut, Dobbins ran for 181 yards against the Hoosiers.
Redshirt freshman backup Master Teague also exceeded 100 yards for the first time, running for 106 yards in 10 carries, including a 40-yard touchdown run.
Justin Fields wasn't as sharp as he was in the Buckeyes' first two games, but he still threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another.
Ohio State's defense was again stifling. Starting quarterback Michael Penix didn't play because of an unspecified injury revealed late in the week. Peyton Ramsey started instead. Ramsey threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns against the Buckeyes last year. He had no such success on Saturday.
It wasn't until Indiana's third possession that the Hoosiers had a play that gained yardage. The Hoosiers' only touchdown came on a trick play in the second quarter. Whop Philyor caught a backward pass and tossed to tight end Peyton Hendershot for a 40-yard touchdown play.
But by then Ohio State had already scored 30 points. After a missed 32-yard field goal by Blake Haubeil on the Buckeyes' first possession, Fields capped a 68-yard drive with a 3-yard keeper to open the scoring.
After an Indiana field goal, Fields then connected with Chris Olave on a 37-yard touchdown to make it 14-3. The defense produced another three-and-out, and Olave blocked Indiana's punt for a safety.
The Buckeyes then drove 75 yards for another touchdown on a Fields pass to K.J. Hill. Dobbins gave Ohio State a 30-3 lead with a 26-yard run in which he ran around or through six would-be tacklers.
The onslaught continued in the second half. Dobbins, who dropped an easy touchdown catch early in the game, caught a tougher one for a 4-yard score to open the third quarter.
After Teague's 40-yard touchdown run, Indiana drove deep into Buckeyes territory. But cornerback Damon Arnette intercepted a Ramsey pass at the 4 and weaved 96 yards for a touchdown.
