Ohio State DB Kendall Sheffield injures pectoral muscle during bench press at NFL Combine

Former Ohio State DB Kendall Sheffield’s worst nightmares have come true — tearing a pectoral muscle during the bench press at the 2019 NFL Combine according to several reports.

Sheffield decided to leave Ohio State one year early, and most folks were looking forward to his turn at the 40-yard dash where he was expected to be the fastest guy to show off at the Combine this year.

Now that won’t happen.

In case you are wondering, the bench press portion of the combine is a test of each player’s ability to lift 225 lbs. as many times as they can. In the case of Sheffield, reports have pointed to an injury on the sixth or seventh rep.

Let’s hope Sheffield can rehab quickly and be ready to hop on with an NFL team soon.
