Ohio State commit TreVeyon Henderson saddened, confused by losing followers

In a few years, TreVeyon Handerson will be one of the hottest names in sports. A five-star stud that just recently committed to Ohio State was among many that spoke out about the recent issues in America.

Those issues stem from decades and generations of injustice. Henderson knew he had a platform. With five figures worth of followers, Henderson had a voice, and he wanted to use it.

But, when he started showing his support, he started losing followers.

He was losing followers for what reason? Was it because he wanted justice? When he started voicing his opinion, he started to lose followers, and that didn’t sit well with the No. 1 running back in the Class of 2021 according to 247Sports own rankings.

“As soon as I started retweeting things about the justice system, people started unfollowing me and it made me feel some type of way. Just knowing that by posting that type of positive stuff — we should have justice — and knowing they don’t respect that is crazy. That tells me a lot about people. It tells me your followers aren’t down for you the way they say they are,” Henderson told NBC Sports’ Chad Ricardo.

Henderson is currently sitting at 12.7k followers, and I’m unsure how many he had when it all started. What I do know is that for a young man to voice his opinion and lose some of those that wanted to follow his career, it’s got to be tough.

However, I doubt it gets to Henderson enough to derail anything he’s about. Hopefully, it shifts into motivation, one that will help him take his play both in his final high school and in college to new levels.
