Ohio State basketball up to a No. 7 seed in latest CBS Bracketology projection

After a rough and tumble January, the Ohio State basketball team has started to figure things out a bit in early February. The Buckeyes have now won three in a row, and four of its last five. The win Sunday on the road against Indiana even brought their conference record back to .500.

And while none of the wins are against the top of the league, it’s been enough to right the ship and get Ohio State off the NCAA bubble — at least for now. In fact, according to Jerry Palm of CBS Sports, the work the Buckeyes have done over the past week have now been enough to jump them from the No. 9 line, two spots to No. 7.

Palm has the Buckeyes in the East Region with Duke, facing No. 10 seed Wofford in the first round, but of course that’s all to be determined.

It’s exactly the type of two weeks Ohio State has needed, but it can’t rest just yet because there’s still time to get back on the bubble and even have it burst.

The Buckeyes host a surging Illinois team next on Thursday, then face some teams at the top of the league to close things out. Keeping the conference record over .500 will be tough to do, so get used to bubble talk again in a couple of weeks.

Unless, of course, Ohio State can spring some fairly sizable upsets.
