The Ohio State basketball team just polished off another undefeated week, beating Maryland on the road and Indiana at home. The Buckeyes now sit at No. 4 in both major polls and seem to be getting better and better with each passing game.
The major polls aren’t the only ones giving Ohio State some love, and in fact, many of the college basketball opinion-makers are also coming away highly impressed with the team that the Buckeyes have become. Count Jay Bilas and Andy Katz among them. Another person that continues to like what OSU puts out on the court is ESPN’s Jeff Borzello. He releases his weekly power rankings (subscription required) and has continued to keep the Buckeyes up in the top five.
Here’s what Borzello says about Ohio State’s spot in the college basketball landscape this week.

No. 4 – Ohio State Buckeyes

What Borzello says about Ohio State
“Ohio State is operating at an extremely high level on the offensive end lately. The Buckeyes have scored at least one point per possession in each of their past 10 outings, making double-digit 3-pointers in six of those and shooting 50% or better from 2-point range in nine. Most of that has coincided with Justin Ahrens’ insertion into the starting lineup; he has made at least three 3s in seven of his past nine games as a starter. CJ Walker also is starting to round into form after missing four games due to injury; he has come off the bench in each of his past six games, but he has scored in double figures in three of his past four and is averaging 4.0 assists in his past six.”
The top ten according to Borzello include Gonzaga (1), Baylor (2), Michigan (3), Ohio State (4), Illinois (5), Alabama (6), Houston (7), Virginia (8), Oklahoma (9), and Villanova (10).
