Ohio State Basketball: Forward Kaleb Wesson works out for Celtics

The Ohio State Buckeyes starting power forward in 2018, Kaleb Wesson, has worked out for the historic Boston Celtics.

After not being invited to the NBA combine, many fans were anticipating Kaleb Wesson returning to the Buckeyes for his third season. However, that may not be a slam dunk any longer.

Wesson, at 6-foot-9, isn’t an elite NBA prospect. But, given his ability to score, averaging 14.6 points per game on 50% from the floor, NBA teams may give him a look.

And, per OSU beat writer Adam Jardy, both the Hawks and Celtics have found some interest in the Buckeyes big man.

The Hawks have five picks in the upcoming NBA draft with the last one being the 42nd selection. The Celtics own the 51st pick which they could use to target Wesson.

Nonetheless, Wesson leaving and struggling in the NBA is both a sad reality that the forward and OSU could face. However, don’t erase the hope that he returns for his junior season.

The NBA Draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2019.
