The COVID-19 pandemic may have brought the sporting world to a screeching halt, but many of the professional leagues are still trying to forge ahead with their respective drafts. Major League Baseball is no different.
In fact, the 2020 MLB Draft is just two weeks away, and it’ll be one of the most unique in the league’s history. ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel just released his revised first-round mock draft, and he has Ohio State’s catcher, Dillon Dingler, included.
Ohio State is not normally known for providing a ton of first-round baseball prospects, but he believes Dingler has an enormous upside and attributes that fit one particular organization’s needs.
Here’s what McDaniel says about Dingler, and where he’ll go in the first round.

No. 20 overall pick – Dillon Dingler to the Milwaukee Brewers

What McDaniel says about the pick
“Dingler was a late-rising prospect this spring, and he has a wide range from the middle to the back of the round. Mitchell and Crochet also fit Milwaukee’s type here.”
It’ll be interesting to see where Dillon does indeed go. Almost every mock draft out there has him as one of the best catching prospects in this year’s crop. It’s just too bad that we were robbed of seeing him perform behind the plate for his final season in a Buckeye uniform.
