Ohio State assistant coach Kenny Anunike gave Broncos a good review to Dre’Mont Jones

Kenny Anunike signed with the Broncos as a college free agent out of Duke following the 2014 NFL draft. The defensive end’s time with the team was limited due to injuries as he made just three appearances from 2014-2015, totaling one tackle.

Injuries forced Anunike out of the NFL in 2016 and he took a coaching job with Ohio State’s football program. Though his time in Denver was marred by injuries, he still has good memories of his time with the team.

Anunike gave a good review of the Broncos to Buckeyes defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones, who was selected by the team in the third round of April’s draft.

“He said the fan base is crazy,” Jones said during his introductory press conference on April 27. “He said it’s just like Ohio State where the fans basically die for you and they’re there for you.

“Once I heard that — I trust Kenny a lot — and once he told me that he was very confident if I did get picked up by the Broncos I would be happy here.”

Jones is expected to compete for a rotational job on the Broncos’ defensive line this offseason.
