Ohio State 2020 kicker commit Jake Siebert selected for Polynesian Bowl

Let’s count this in the games I’d like to cover. I mean, a trip to Hawaii? Check. Covering a football All-Star game? Check. A chance to watch an Ohio State commit before he makes the trek to Columbus? Check it all.

Buckeye 2020 kicker commit Jake Seibert is going to be a part of the Polynesian Bowl per an announcement via Twitter Saturday. Siebert, from Cincinnati La Salle High School is rated as the top kicking recruit in the country according to several recruiting services. He committed to the Buckeyes back in June over schools like UCLA and Michigan State.

Now he’ll get an all-expenses paid trip to the island of Oahu to take part in one of the coolest all-star games around. You don’t have to be Hawaiian, you just have to be invited as one of the best high school football players in the country.

According to the website, the bowl is “Where the world’s top high school football players gather to celebrate culture and play the game they love.” The Polynesian Bowl is held annually during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week. NFL Ambassadors include Michael BennettDeForest BucknerMarcus MariotaHaloti NgataDanny SheltonJuJu Smith-Schuster and Ronnie Stanley.

The 2020 version of the bowl is set to air on CBS Saturday, January 18 at a time to be determined.

Congratulations to Seibert, and Hang Loose.
