The Ohio State football staff has been on fire as of late. Despite the dead period imposed by the NCAA because of the COVID-19 measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus, the Buckeyes have still landed five high-profile recruits over the last couple of weeks.
And now, for all of the recruiting efforts of the assistant coaches, 247Sports has ranked five coaches in the top ten of the best recruiters in the country for the 2021 class. Yes, five of the top ten. Ohio State is just one program and has half the spots dedicated to the best recruiters in the country.
So who are they? The top recruiter according to 247Sports is running backs coach Tony Alford. He convinced Trey Sermon to transfer to Ohio State, but also landed two top-five running backs in the 2021 class with Evan Pryor and TreVeyon Henderson. Behind him are wide-receivers coach Brian Hartline at No. 2, Kerry Coombs at No. 4, Al Washington at No. 5, and Larry Johnson at No. 8.
I don’t know if I can explain how ridiculous this is, but what’s going on in Columbus right now with recruiting is simply unbelievable, and there’s even more likely to come.
