COLUMBUS, Ohio — Another 8,377 Ohioans tested positive for COVID-19 as of Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 622,806 cases, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
Sunday's cases were less than a three-week average of 9,923 new cases reported per day.
Deaths increased Sunday by 16, which is less than the three-week average of 78 new deaths reported per day.
As of Sunday, the virus has killed 8,047 people, according to the state.
An additional 194 Ohioans were hospitalized with COVID-19 by Sunday. That's less than the three-week average of 392 new hospitalizations a day, state data shows.
Admissions to intensive care units increased Sunday by 17, which is less than the three-week average of 41 new ICU admissions a day. As of Sunday, 4,758 Ohioans remained hospitalized with COVID-19, including 1,126 in ICUs and 792 on ventilators, according to the state.
