Ohashi wins gold in 400m medley

Yui Ohashi won the women's 400-meter individual medley at Tokyo Aquatic Centre on Sunday, the first gold in swimming for Japan's team.

This is the first medal for Japan in this event since Yasuko Tajima won the silver in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Ohashi hails from Shiga Prefecture and is the Japan record holder in the event. She was the third fastest swimmer in Saturday's heats.
