Oh no — Kaare Vedvik misses first FG opportunity with Vikings

Here we go again, Vikings fans.

Kaare Vedvik, who the team traded a fifth-round pick for earlier in August, received his first field-goal opportunity with the Vikings late in the first half against the Cardinals in preseason action Saturday.

Well, it didn’t go great.

Vedvik was wide left on the attempt.

(While the broadcast said it was a 48-yard field goal, it was actually a 43-yard attempt.)

The Vikings’ kicking woes continue. Maybe this will be something that won’t end up mattering, but the pressure on Vedvik and the Vikings to get the kicker position right, has intensified.

Minnesota has a decision to make between Vedvik and Dan Bailey. Vedvik can also punt, but it’s probably a safe bet the Vikings didn’t trade a fifth-round pick with the hopes Vedvik would be their starting punter.
